In the heart of 1973 Stockholm, the ordinarily quiet Kreditbanken is disrupted by a solitary gunman, initially mistaken to be the infamous American robber Kaj Hansson. This semi-fictional tale traces the surreal events that culminated in the birth of the term 'Stockholm Syndrome', a psychological phenomenon where hostages develop an unexpected bond with their captors. The audacious demands of the armed invader include a staggering $1 million, the liberation of the notorious bank robber and murderer Gunnar Sorensson, and a Mustang Boss 302, identical to the one Steve McQueen commandeered in Bullitt (1968), setting the stage for an eerie and gripping saga. In an intriguing twist, Chief of Police Mattsson strikes a covert deal with Sorensson, who is brought to the bank as an unsuspecting pawn in Mattsson's counter-strategy.
