Plot

In the unforgiving landscape of 1873 Arizona, a motley group of passengers embarks on a treacherous journey by stagecoach from Tucson to Fort Yuma. Among them is Loy Lan Yu (Judy Dan), a Chinese girl who is discovered to be a carrier of the feared smallpox. This terrifying revelation forces the group to abandon the safety of the coach, pitting them against the harsh desert elements. The band of castaways is an eclectic mix; Jess Dollard (Warren Stevens), a battle-hardened gunfighter, Dade Coleman (Martin Landau), a cunning gambler, and Ann Thompson (Jody Lawrence), a young medical student with a heart full of courage. Alongside them are Hiram Best (Del Moore), a deceitful Indian agent, Major John Southern (Don Wilbanks), a stern army officer, and two other Chinese girls, each with their own tale to tell. Their fight for survival intensifies when they face not just the brutal desert, but also a ruthless Indian attack. The desert's merciless sun and savage inhabitants whittle their numbers, and only the strongest will survive this deadly ordeal. This arduous journey reveals their true natures, and they learn the price of survival in the unforgiving wild west.
