Day of Anger (1967)

In the unassuming town of Clifton, Scott Mary, the disregarded son of a prostitute, finds himself immersed in the town's menial tasks. From tidying the local brothel and saloon to sweeping the dusty streets and keeping the bank pristine, Scott is unseen and unappreciated. Yet, beneath his quiet surface, there brews a dream of a different reality, a fantasy of becoming a formidable sharpshooter that refuses to be silenced. Suddenly, the monotonous rhythm of Clifton's life is disrupted when the aging, notorious gunslinger, Frank Talby, breezes into town. Seeing an opportunity to escape his mundane existence, Scott seizes the chance to become Talby's apprentice. Under the gunslinger's tutelage, Scott's transformation from a timid outcast to a hardened man and lethal gunfighter begins to unfold, shifting the equilibrium of power within Clifton's peaceful facade. But as Scott embraces his new identity, he remains blissfully unaware of a hidden connection, a mysterious thread from the past that binds Talby to the quaint town of Clifton. An old score that could be settled or a debt that's due? The origins of their bond remain shrouded, yet its existence is undeniable. Inevitably, Scott is thrust into a perilous choice, a dangerous crossroads where he must decide his loyalty. As he stands on the precipice of his old and new life, Scott must face the ultimate test of his transformation - the decision to toughen up, once and for all.
