Plot

In the heart of the U.S. Navy, we meet the charismatic sailor Handsome Callahan, famed for his captivating tales of romantic conquests, athletic triumphs, and intricate family stories. His tales serve as a charming armor, shielding him from the monotony of naval life. On a rare day's shore leave, Handsome embarks on a quest to find a dinner date, using a pair of baby shoes as his unique ice-breaker. Each encounter is an opportunity to spin another enchanting story about his niece, nephew, loving mother, or his heroic father presumed lost at sea. However, luck seems to be evading him until a twist of fate lands him in the path of a car driven by the enchanting Helen, a granddaughter of Admiral Farnsworth and also the girlfriend of Duke, Callahan's shipmate. Recognizing the baby shoes as Duke's, Helen finds herself amused by Handsome's charm and invites him home for dinner. Entering the grand abode, Handsome is taken aback by a house buzzing with top Navy officers, overseen by the ever-watchful butler, Vincent. However, not everything is as it seems. Amid the pomp and ceremony, a sinister plot is afoot as two shadowy figures lurk, their eyes set on Duke's revolutionary invention, a robot-controlled autopilot system. As the evening progresses, Handsome finds himself tangled in a dangerous game of intrigue, as he must protect not only the groundbreaking invention from prying eyes but also safeguard his shipmate's trust and the heart of the captivating Helen. Set against the backdrop of San Francisco's vibrant cityscape, Son of a Sailor is a thrilling journey of charm, espionage, and unexpected heroism.
