In the dim shadow of her twin sister Sofie's tragic suicide, Megan remains ensnared in the throes of grief and longing. As the summer solstice approaches, marking the longest day of the year, she embarks on a journey to her family's secluded home in the verdant depths of Nowell Lake, Louisiana. Accompanied by her close-knit group of friends - Christian, Zoe, Mark, and Alicia - Megan seeks solace in the familiar surroundings. In a quaint local store, she crosses paths with Nick, a friendly shopkeeper who introduces her to a magazine article detailing the mystical power of the summer solstice, a time believed to enhance communication with the departed.
