Plot

In the jovial whirlwind of life, the line between the ordinary and the extraordinary is often blurred. "Soft Hearts" (1998) is a heartwarming tale that plunges into this paradox, immersing the viewer in the unpredictable currents of human relationships. Our protagonist, the daring and spirited Annie, fears the relentless march of time and decides to make a bold move. Setting her sights on her dashing co-worker Ron, she tactically orchestrates a tipsy encounter at an office party, culminating in an intimate rendezvous in a car. However, love, like life, is seldom straightforward. Annie's world is turned upside down when she discovers she's pregnant, and the father of her child, Ron, is harbouring an explosive secret: he's gay. Adding another layer to the complexity, Ron isn't just gay, he's in a committed relationship with Nick, his live-in partner. Annie is ready to nest, but Ron's partner Nick is less than thrilled at the prospect of a third wheel in their cosy duo. Will this unconventional trio manage to create a harmonious life under one roof, or will they succumb to the adage that three's a crowd? "Soft Hearts" is a comedic, poignant exploration of unconventional relationships, challenging societal norms and offering a fresh perspective on love, acceptance, and the multifaceted nature of family. The narrative weaves together the lives of three extraordinary characters, presenting an enchanting journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and the true meaning of family.
