Plot

In the heart of the 1950s, a decorated naval officer, Rustom Pavri, is catapulted into a storm of betrayal and revenge when he discovers the unthinkable: his beloved wife, Cynthia, in the arms of his friend, the arrogant business tycoon Vickram Makhija. Three bullets rip through the silence, leaving Vickram lifeless and Rustom entangled in a web of deceit and suspicion. Rustom's world begins to crumble as he returns from his posting to find his marital bliss shattered. Love letters hidden in the cupboard reveal Cynthia's indiscretions, pushing Rustom to the brink. In an act fuelled by love and betrayal, he procures a pistol from the Naval Ship's Armory, ending Vickram’s life with three potent shots to the chest. The aftermath of this tragedy unfolds in a riveting legal battle, where Rustom fights tooth and nail to prove his actions were not of cold-blooded murder, but of self-defence. The courtroom becomes a battlefield, with Vickram's affluent family seeking justice, convinced of Rustom's guilt. Meanwhile, Rustom's struggle for innocence is hindered not only by his wife's betrayal but also by a relentless police officer, Vincent Lobo. Lobo's determination to uncover the truth and a shadowy coterie of powerful figures hell-bent on keeping Rustom behind bars further complicate the situation. Amid the public's growing support for Rustom, the truth becomes a blurred line between right and wrong. The question remains: will Rustom overcome the obstacles that stand in his way, or will he succumb to a system manipulated by those with power and influence? The film "Rustom" weaves a gripping tale of love, betrayal, and justice, inviting viewers on a journey through a man's fight for his honor.
