A dramatization of the true story of Mahavir Singh Phogat who sought fame in India as a pehlwani wrestler. His father forced him to abandon sports before he could win a medal. Phogat then hopes to train a son as a champion wrestler, but his wife bears him four daughters. He abandons his sports ambitions, but when his two oldest daughters come home after being bullied, Phogat decides to train them in wrestling. The girls achieve astounding success, beating male wrestlers and competing in the World Commonwealth Games - but can they win the gold medal their father never could?
