Welcome (2007)

In the heart of Dubai's underworld, Shankar Shetty, a hardened criminal don, leaves behind a legacy of crime and a son, Uday, upon his death. After the loss of his dark-skinned mother, Uday and his fair-skinned half-sister, Sanjana, are left in a world shrouded in danger and notoriety. The stigma of their crime-ridden lineage leaves Sanjana without a suitor, prompting Uday to take on the mission of finding her a suitable husband. With the help of his associate, Sagar Pandey, a romantic-turned-renegade who now goes by the name 'Majnu', they find the unsuspecting Rajiv. Living with his maternal Uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo, Rajiv is coerced into the alliance through crafty extortion, much to the dismay of his uncle. Dr. Ghunghroo, desperate to avoid the crime family, contrives a scheme in Sun City, South Africa, where he introduces Rajiv to another woman. However, fate plays a twisted game, and the woman turns out to be none other than Sanjana herself. Caught in a whirlwind of affection, Rajiv and Sanjana's love story takes a comical turn when a woman claiming to be Rajiv's childhood betrothed appears, successfully annulling their engagement. Unforeseen circumstances force Dr. Ghunghroo to accept Sanjana into the family, but only on the condition that Uday abandons his life of crime. In a humorous twist, Rajiv and Sanjana convince Uday to pursue a career in Bollywood, which proves to be a surprising success. However, their happiness is short-lived as danger looms on the horizon. The arrival of the Italian-based don, Ranvir Dhanraj alias RDX, who holds an authoritative command over the underworld, complicates matters. His son, Lucky, arrives in India with the sole mission to return Uday to his criminal roots, even if it means eliminating Rajiv. Welcome is a riveting roller-coaster ride of love, deceit, and crime, where each character is entangled in a hilarious web of complications. The film offers a delightful blend of comedy and action, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the next twist in this comical crime saga.
