In the harsh desert environs, Rey forfeited the allure of college and the sweetness of love to shoulder the responsibility of raising his young half-brother Oliver - two souls tethered by a shared mother but divided by different fathers. When their meth-addicted mother Lola, freshly emancipated from the imprisoning shackles of jail, resolutely seeks to mend the fractured family ties, an alarmed Rey absconds with his younger brother.
