Alley McBeal is a hapless lawyer with no interest of her own. She follows her boyfriend to Harvard Law School and into a law firm. He breaks up with her and marries another lawyer in the firm. This causes her to become very insecure and question herself at every decision she makes. Her life is also complicated from other lawyers in the firm and the ever-nosey secretary who constantly spreads gossip. Ally’s friend and roommate is well-meaning but often gives terrible advice for Ally’s love life. In each episode, Ally has to face a new dilemma using her insecurities and fantasies.
