RoboCop (1987)

In Detroit, Omni Consumer Products (OCP) effectively runs the entire city. The company seeks to tear down Old Detroit in order to build Delta City. A high crime rate and resistance from locals must be overcome first. Unfortunately, the Detroit Police Department struggles to deal with the constant crime within the city. Veteran officer Alex Murphy receives a transfer into Old Detroit and is partnered with Anne Lewis. In an encounter with Clarence Boddicker, a high-profile criminal, Murphy is brought to the brink of death. OCP doctors bring Murphy's body in and place his brain into RoboCop, making him a lethal crimefighting cyborg of sorts. Murphy's memory is wiped as he wakes up and battles against crime in Detroit and the corrupt OCP.
