Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)

Astronaut Brent has been sent to look for the men who vanished from a previous mission. Like them, he crosses the time barrier and lands on the planet that is populated by apes. Brent first pays a visit to Ape City and then to the Forbidden Zone, where the astronaut Taylor was last seen. There, he discovers an underground civilization of telepathic humans who worship a nuclear bomb powerful enough to destroy the entire planet.
