Once a beacon of solace for troubled hearts, Dr. Jill Peterman, a renowned relationship therapist, abruptly finds her world collapsing when an on-air tragedy, the suicide of a distressed caller named Alexis, shatters her highly acclaimed radio show. Deeply shaken, Dr. Jill steps away from the microphone, vowing to leave that part of her life in the past. However, the station's desperate General Manager, Stuart, implores her to resurrect the show, hoping to reignite the station's waning popularity. Still haunted by the ghost of the tragedy, Jill reluctantly agrees, seeing an opportunity to quell her lingering anxiety and help her friend. As she begins to find her rhythm again in the world of radio, a series of eerily familiar calls begins to disrupt her newfound peace.
