Plot

Set against the pulsating backdrop of the late 1980s LA club scene, Prey for Rock & Roll is the riveting saga of Jacki, a fiery punk rocker and the magnetic lead of the all-girl band, Clam Dandy. After a grueling decade of being overlooked by the music industry, Jacki and her bandmates find a glimmer of hope in a producer who pledges to consider them for a contract, promising to attend their next gig. Jacki, played with enticing grit by Gina Gershon, is on the precipice of a life-altering decision as her 40th birthday looms. She's bound by a vow she made to her younger self - to walk away from the music business if she hasn't tasted success by 40. This looming deadline adds a layer of tension to their journey, as she grapples with the question of whether to keep rocking, or throw in the towel after this final performance. However, the road to this pivotal gig is far from smooth. Old secrets seep out of the shadows, false hope teases them, and personal tragedies lurk around every corner, threatening to fracture the band. The women find themselves in a tumultuous struggle, their friendship and trust hanging in the balance. Prey for Rock & Roll is a compelling exploration of determination and passion, of promises made and dreams pursued. It is a testament to the strength found in the bonds of friendship and the power of music. As their world threatens to crumble, Clam Dandy must draw strength from their shared passion - the music that is not only their lifeline but also the thread that binds them together, inspiring them to face their challenges and, ultimately, to prevail.
