Carol (2015)

In 1950s New York, two very different women cross paths by chance and eventually find themselves entangled in a romance that defied the expectations of the time. Carol Aird is in a loveless relationship with her husband, and she finds amateur photographer and shop girl Therese Belivet to be a breath of fresh air from what she's used to. But both women have to contend with their existing heterosexual relationships and contend with whether or not they're willing to risk social and financial ruin for the sake of their love. Soon, even Carol's relationship with her daughter is thrown into uncertainty.
