In the heart of a world where artistry is bound by gender and social expectations, we find the gifted Yun-jeong (Kim Min-sun). Forbidden to embrace her extraordinary talent due to societal norms, she quietly supports her less-talented brother, secretly infusing her spirit into his paintings as he prepares for life as a court painter. However, tragedy strikes when her brother, unable to bear his inadequacy, ends his life. Deeply affected by the loss yet driven by her indomitable spirit, Yun-jeong seizes her destiny and assumes her brother's identity, becoming Yun-bok, the male court painter.
Meanwhile, her father, the retired court painter Shin Han-pyeong, harbors a long-standing vendetta against the esteemed painter Kim Hong-do (Kim Young-ho), seeing Yun-bok's talent as the perfect weapon to defeat his rival. Little does he know, fate intertwines as Yun-bok becomes a protégé under the very man Shin seeks to surpass.
