Plot

In the not-too-distant future of 2021, humanity finds itself on the brink of obliteration, under siege by the Gastrea, a destructive parasitic virus. Humans are corralled within the towering Monolith walls, impenetrable fortresses forged from Varanium, the only metal capable of subduing the relentless Gastrea. Amidst this chaos, a grotesque miracle occurs: children born with the Gastrea virus, known as the Cursed Children, gain superhuman abilities. Ironically, salvation comes in the form of the very virus that threatens to destroy them. These children, all female due to the virus's mysterious intervention, become humanity's last line of defense. Ten years after the Gastrea outbreak, the fight for mankind's survival is in the hands of Civil Securities, specialized task forces composed of a Promoter, who leads the cursed children, and an Initiator, the Cursed Child themselves. Rentaro Satomi, a high school student and a Promoter with Tendo Civil Security Agency, navigates this grim reality. Owned by Kisara Tendo, his childhood friend, Rentaro partners with his Initiator, the precocious Enju Aihara, to embark on perilous missions at the edge of Tokyo, the last bastion of humanity. Their lives, already mired in danger and despair, take a dramatic turn when they receive a clandestine assignment from the government. Their mission: to prevent the annihilation of Tokyo and, by extension, the end of the world. As the darkness of their dystopian world closes in, Rentaro and Enju stand as beacons of hope, their peculiar powers humanity's only chance in this thrilling heroic-action saga.
