Plot

In One Thing at a Time, Julien, a modestly successful lawyer, finds himself facing off against the labyrinthine justice system when his childhood comrade, Jacques, a prosperous property magnate, is accused of a heinous crime. This crime: the murder of his wife, a captivating woman who was an object of affection for both men but ultimately chose Jacques as her life partner. However, in a surprising twist, Jacques places his fate in the hands of Pierre Leonardi, a celebrated lawyer, instead of his old friend Julien. The odds are seemingly insurmountable, with every piece of evidence pointing a damning finger at Jacques. Despite his protestations of innocence, the gavel falls, and Jacques is found guilty. With his friend swallowed by the cold, unyielding jaws of prison, Julien takes it upon himself to intervene, persuading Jacques to permit him to spearhead his appeal. As Julien delves deeper into the case, he is faced with a conundrum - if Jacques is indeed innocent, then who is the true perpetrator of this horrific crime? Was it an intricate frame-up? Could the culprit be a member of the chateau’s staff, or perhaps a guest at her final dinner party? As the plot unravels, Julien must navigate through the murky depths of this mystery, all while wrestling against time to secure his friend's freedom. Will he succeed, or will he crumble under the weight of this daunting task? One Thing at a Time is a tale of friendship, love, and the relentless search for truth.
