Plot

Returning to New York after an extensive sojourn in a Swiss hospital, January Wayne, the adored and sheltered daughter of a once prosperous Hollywood producer, Mike Wayne, finds herself caught in a whirlwind of change and decadence. Her father, now facing financial hardship, decides to wed a wealthy woman, propelling January into an opulent world where she must carve her own path. As January navigates this unfamiliar terrain, she becomes the object of affection for her stepmother's flamboyant playboy cousin. However, her heart is drawn to an unexpected figure - a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, significantly older, and echoing the paternal affection she yearns for. Their relationship anchors her amidst the engulfing chaos of New York's high society. But as January is starting to find her footing, tragedy strikes, threatening to upend the delicate balance she's achieved. The tale of 'Jacqueline Susann's Once Is Not Enough' is a poignant journey through love, loss, and the search for personal identity amidst the glitz and glamour of a world that's as harsh as it is enticing.
