Noel (2004)

As Christmas Eve descends upon New York, the lives of five souls, each seeking solace and redemption, become entwined in an emotional tapestry. Amidst the backdrop of the city’s twinkling lights and falling snow, we meet embittered cop Mike Riley, whose overbearing jealousy has cost him his relationship with his Latina fiancée, Nina Vasquez. Nina, torn between love and frustration, finds herself walking away from Mike, yet yearning for his presence. Meanwhile, a seemingly ordinary waiter, Artie Venzuela, haunted by the ghost of his late wife, becomes fixated on Mike. Artie finds in him a striking resemblance to his lost love, a chance at closure, even as he struggles to reconnect with his estranged adult son. In a quiet corner of the city, we find Rose Collins, a divorcee and publisher, whose life is consumed by the care of her Alzheimer-afflicted mother. At the hospital, Rose finds a confidante in terminally ill priest Charlie Boyd, a benevolent spirit who offers her a lifeline in her most desolate moments. Lastly, there's Jules Calvert, a man nursing nostalgia for a warm hospital Christmas from his youth. In his desperate attempt to recapture that fleeting joy, he even contemplates self-harm. As the night unfolds, their paths cross serendipitously, weaving a heartfelt tale of love, loss, and the longing for human connection.
