Murder, She Baked: Just Desserts (2017)

In the quaint town of Eden Lake, Minnesota, renowned for its peaceful demeanor, another murder sends shockwaves through the community. This time, however, the gruesome discovery isn't made by Hannah Swensen, the beloved local bakery owner known for her knack for stumbling upon dead bodies. Instead, it's Norman Rhodes, the town's dentist, who encounters the lifeless form of Len Bishop, the high school basketball coach, outside the school premises. Len's death comes on the heels of the semi-finals of the highly-anticipated Eden Lake Bake-Off, an event masterminded and hosted by none other than Hannah and broadcasted by the local TV station, WNKW. The late coach had been a last-minute substitute judge, making his untimely demise all the more puzzling. The task of unraveling this complex mystery falls to Detective Mike Kingston, a seasoned investigator familiar with Eden Lake's recent string of homicides. Mike, now romantically involved with Hannah, wisely keeps her informed of the investigation, aware of her innate knack for sleuthing. As the investigation unfolds, it threatens to strain Hannah and Mike's relationship, with Norman, who has been seen dating other women, seeming to bide his time. The unraveling mystery, tangled relationships, and the deadly Bake-Off weave a captivating tale of suspense and intrigue in the seemingly tranquil town of Eden Lake.
