Mr. Holmes (2015)

This is the story of Sherlock Holmes long past his prime. Now elderly and beset by dementia, he's approaching the end of his life and trying to come to terms with his own legacy. He's haunted by a case from three decades prior. His former partner Watson wrote of it, but he finds himself unsettled by Watson's conclusions. So he sets about telling his own memories of the story, but he finds his dementia makes it difficult. For Holmes' last case, his brilliant mind will be as much an impediment as an asset. But a mother and son could unexpectedly provide the insight he needs to crack the case.
