In the heart of New York, Bob, 34, is known for his endearing wit and self-deprecation. However, his constant niceness sometimes leaves you itching to give him a wake-up slap. Bob's life takes an intriguing turn when he falls for a brilliant and strikingly beautiful girl. However, her beauty becomes a double-edged sword as it invites competition. Life throws a curveball when Eric, Bob's friend of 15 years and former roommate, finds himself having to move back in with Bob. Eric's return coincides with the arrival of Mona, Bob's enchanting new love interest. At 22, Mona hails from a world of affluence but yearns for independence. She dreams of a bohemian life she's only read about in books, a dream that her mundane temp job is relentlessly smothering. When Mona crosses paths with Eric, he audaciously flirts with her, half-expecting a slap. But to his surprise, she doesn't retaliate.
