Plot

In the shimmering city of Paris, Eve, a dazzling American showgirl, finds herself adrift and penniless, her dreams of gold-digging turned to dust. In the midst of her despair, she encounters the charming taxi driver Tibor Czerny, a man whose heart is as rich as his pockets are empty. But for Eve, the allure of wealth is too strong, and she abandons Tibor, crashing into the opulent world of high society under the alias of Baroness Czerny. In the swirl of champagne and chandeliers, she crosses paths with the flamboyant Helene Flammarion and her dashing gigolo Picot, who is irresistibly drawn to Eve's false baroness persona. As the stakes rise, Georges Flammarion, Helene's calculating husband, manipulates Eve into a scheme to pry Picot away from his wife, a plan that initially runs as smoothly as silk. All the while, Tibor, hopelessly smitten, embarks on a relentless quest for Eve, his heart aching as he uncovers her deceptive baroness guise. As Eve navigates through the treacherous waters of deception, wealth, and love, she must evade the trap she's always fallen into: surrendering to the charms of a man whose pockets aren't lined with gold. Amid the glittering backdrop of Parisian high society, Eve's journey is a captivating dance of love and illusion, where nothing is as it seems, and the stroke of midnight may bring unexpected revelations.
