Plot

Cho-Won, a resilient 20-year-old man with autism, delicately navigates life under the sheltering love of his devoted mother and the shadow of his younger brother's resentment. Despite societal challenges and familial tensions, Cho-Won discovers solace in the swift rhythm of his own two feet hitting the pavement. A natural-born runner, his talent shines through, catching his mother's keen eye. Stirred by his potential, she makes an earnest decision: to hire a coach that can help hone her son's inherent talent. Their search leads them to a former marathon champion, now a languid old man, burdened by life's relentless race. Seemingly defeated, he finds renewed purpose in coaching Cho-Won, awakening his dormant passion. Meanwhile, Cho-Won sets his sights on a lofty goal - to shatter a marathon's fastest record. Marathon (2005), a poignant Korean film with English subtitles, is a testament to the power of determination, the strength of familial bonds, and the transformative nature of sports. Even in the face of adversity and financial hardship, mother and son embark on an inspiring journey that transcends the limitations of life, one stride at a time. This compelling narrative will draw you into Cho-Won's world, where every finish line is just the start of a new race.
