Plot

In the picturesque town of New Mexico, nestled amidst the majestic mountains, we find Arthur Herring (Mike Starr), a man of many faces - mayor, priest, and mortician. Alongside his brother Vincent (Jude Moran), they form the respected bedrock of their quaint community. But beneath this facade of respectability, a storm of greed and deceit is brewing. When their fellow mortician, Lloyd (Christopher Lloyd), entrusts them with his invaluable coin collection during his prison term, the brothers find themselves staring at a small fortune. Upon Lloyd's release, instead of returning the treasure, Arthur and Vincent weave a complex plot, fueled by avarice, to keep the coins for themselves. However, their intricate scheme spirals into a labyrinth of complications, ensnaring them in a web of their own making. A twisted love affair adds another layer to their deception, further convoluting the situation. As the brothers struggle to maintain their grip on the stolen treasure, they find themselves caught in a modern-day crime mystery that echoes true stories of greed and betrayal. In "Making a Killing" (2018), the seemingly serene small town life transforms into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, where buried treasure, tangled relationships, and dark desires intertwine. It’s a tale that tests the boundaries of trust and reveals the corrosive power of greed, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, questioning - who will make the final killing?
