Teetering on the precipice of disaster, Geraldine Ferraro Elementary School is an epicenter of chaos and corruption. With the dubious distinction of the state's lowest test scores, a faculty roster peppered with inebriates and indiscreet lovers, and a principal who unashamedly pilfers from parents, the institution is more farce than fortress of learning. In the midst of this educational apocalypse stands Tom Willoman, the self-doubting vice principal who's convinced his career has met its premature demise. His hopes take a further nosedive when school inspector and former classmate, Rebecca Seabrook, delivers a damning report threatening the school's very existence. However, instead of accepting defeat, Tom and Rebecca decide to probe deeper into the suspiciously nonchalant attitude of Harper Billings, the school's contemptible principal. Unraveling a twisted tapestry of abuse, demoralization, blackmail, and a sinister real estate scheme, they uncover the rot at the heart of Ferraro Elementary. Faced with an impending board decision that could shutter the school for good, Tom finds himself thrust into the unlikely role of the hero. His mission: rally the dispirited teachers, expose Billings' corruption, and pull Ferraro Elementary back from the brink, all before the final school bell tolls.
