Plot

In the heart of the ecclesiastical world, we find Kyu-sik, a seminary student whose life takes an unexpected turn. After a mishap during a church service involving a priceless, papal-blessed relic, he and his humorously endearing companion, Seon-dal, find themselves dispatched to a quaint church in rural Korea. This serves as their 'priestly purgatory,' a chance to refocus and prove their commitment to their chosen paths. Upon their arrival, the duo encounters the vibrant Bong-hee, a Korean-American beauty who has journeyed from America to see her uncle, the priest of the rural church. However, her true intention is to reunite with her boyfriend. Fate, however, throws a wrench in her plans, leaving her stranded in the church with no way back home. A series of awkward encounters ensue between the stoically devout Kyu-sik and the headstrong Bong-hee. Their contrasting personalities create a whirlpool of emotions, leading to a cycle of petty quarrels and hesitant truces. Yet, beneath this surface tension, a spark ignites, subtly blurring the lines between irritation and affection. As the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that there’s more to their relationship than their initial animosity. The film beautifully navigates the tightrope between lighthearted comedy and heartwarming romance, all while exploring the complexities of faith and duty. Kyu-sik finds himself at a crossroads, torn between the life of celibacy he is destined for and the growing affection he harbors for Bong-hee. "Love, So Divine" is a journey of self-discovery and unexpected love that unfolds amidst the backdrop of rural Korea, capturing the essence of human connection and the personal struggles that accompany a life devoted to faith. This captivating film is a testament to the transformative power of love and the human spirit's capacity for change.
