In the bustling heart of Tokyo in the summer of 2015, Ryoichi Suzuki, once a rebellious punk-rock hopeful with a burning desire to set the world ablaze with his tunes, now lives a timid existence. His dreams of stardom have been replaced by the reality of being a low-ranking salary-man, enduring daily ridicule at a musical instrument parts company. Ryoichi's confidence, as fragile as a mouse on stage, is further tested by his secret affection for Yuko, a compassionate coworker whose heart he longs to win but lacks the courage to express his feelings. Ryoichi's world takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a small turtle, Pikadon, on a department store rooftop.
