Plot

In the bustling heart of Tokyo in the summer of 2015, Ryoichi Suzuki, once a rebellious punk-rock hopeful with a burning desire to set the world ablaze with his tunes, now lives a timid existence. His dreams of stardom have been replaced by the reality of being a low-ranking salary-man, enduring daily ridicule at a musical instrument parts company. Ryoichi's confidence, as fragile as a mouse on stage, is further tested by his secret affection for Yuko, a compassionate coworker whose heart he longs to win but lacks the courage to express his feelings. Ryoichi's world takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a small turtle, Pikadon, on a department store rooftop. This unassuming creature becomes both a loyal friend and the recipient of Ryoichi's deepest desires and unspoken ambitions. Yet, the mockery of his coworkers pushes Ryoichi to a regrettable decision. Surrendering to their laughter, he banishes Pikadon to the labyrinthine sewer system of Tokyo, abandoning his only friend in a world as cold and confusing as his own. However, deep beneath the city's surface, Pikadon embarks on a journey of his own. Encountering an old man who dwells in the underground, the discarded pet's tale takes an extraordinary turn. As Ryoichi grapples with his regret, the turtle's adventure unfolds, intertwining their fates in a story that explores friendship, dreams, and the courage to pursue what truly matters. Will Ryoichi face his fears and reveal his feelings to Yuko? Is the bond with Pikadon truly severed, or can their friendship withstand the vast and complex maze of Tokyo? Love & Peace explores these questions and more in this poignant tale of dreams deferred and the undying power of friendship.
