Killer Bees (2002)

In the quiet rural town of Washington, Sheriff Lyndon Harris finds himself juggling between his roles as a peacekeeper, a father, and a soon-to-be divorcee. His life is far from simple, with a ruthless mayor, Ditwaller, preying on foreclosed properties and his impressionable son, Dylan, falling under the influence of a local troublemaker, Jared Wylie. Amidst these whirlwinds of life, an unusual threat buzzes into the town - a truckload of Latin American killer bees, set loose after an accident. The bees, unusually aggressive and far from their usual habitat, waste no time in launching deadly attacks. Harris, noticing the oddity of the bee-related incidents, seeks advice from Riley Muir, an entomologist. Muir confirms the worst - this is the northernmost-ever case of killer bees invasion. Alarmed, Harris takes it upon himself to safeguard his town, but his warnings fall on deaf ears. The money-minded Mayor Ditwaller is too engrossed in sealing a lucrative deal with a honey distributing company during the town's honey festival to heed the looming danger. With time running out and the bees growing more violent, the town's survival hangs by a thread. The only person who believes in Harris's warning is a woman well-versed in the art of beekeeping. As the town slowly realizes the ghastly truth, the question arises - will they act in time to avert the impending disaster, or will it be too late? This unexpected menace tests the resilience of the town and its people, as they battle not just against the deadly swarm, but also the ignorance and greed within their ranks.
