The Dead Zone (1983)

Johnny Smith, a teacher, wakes from a coma after a car accident and finds that five years have passed. His girlfriend, Sarah, has married someone else and had a child. He also discovers that he has the power to see visions about a person's life when he grasps their hand. At first, this comes into use by the police to catch a serial killer. Later, Johnny has an even more serious vision, one that could spell doom for the entire human race if he cannot change the future he has seen.
