Plot

In the heart of Manhattan, Detective Frank Keller, a seasoned cop with two decades of experience under his belt, navigates the solitary path of his life, pining for his ex-wife Denise, who now shares her life with his comrade, Gruber. His solitude is abruptly shattered when a chilling murder case lands on his desk. The mysterious killer leaves a haunting signature: a single playing of the song "Sea of Love" and a lethal shot to the neck. As the body count rises, Frank is joined by Detective Sherman from a neighboring district. They uncover a chilling pattern tying the victims to the lonely hearts column of the "New York Weekly." The murderer, it seems, has a taste for poetry and a penchant for love-starved souls seeking companionship in the pages of this magazine. In a daring move, Frank convinces his chief to let him go undercover, responding to the lonely hearts column himself in a high-stake game of cat and mouse. The plan takes an unexpected turn when Frank finds himself drawn to Helen Cruger, the captivating manager of a shoe store and their prime suspect. The case becomes a dangerous dance of love and suspicion as Frank battles his growing feelings for Helen while racing against time to unmask the "Sea of Love" killer. Will his love for a possible serial killer cloud his judgment, or will he manage to solve the case before the killer strikes again? This gripping tale of love, deceit, and murder will keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the final curtain falls.
