Kachche Dhaage (1999)

Brought up by his mother, Mariam, Aftab's life is shrouded in mystery, with the identity and whereabouts of his biological father unknown to him. This mystery unravels when Mariam receives news of Ramakant Pandit's impending death. As they journey to meet the dying man, Mariam reveals the truth to Aftab - Ramakant is his long-lost father. A tense reunion ensues, with Aftab's initial anger melting away as he meets a humbled Ramakant, who is ready to beg forgiveness at his son's feet. Aftab embraces his father, but their reunion is short lived as Ramakant passes away in his arms.
