Plot

In the chilly embrace of the Christmas season, Holly Silver, weary from being a perpetual scapegoat at Arthur Publishing, resigns from her publicist position without a safety net of a new job. Her predicament mirrors her past departure from the family enterprise, Silver Investments, where she was destined to be Vice-President. Disagreements over the firm's trajectory with her father, stepmother, and stepbrother led to her leaving, severing ties with them. Her visit to her sister, Eve Silver, triggers an epiphany. Holly realizes that she isn't destined to bounce from one unsatisfying job to another but rather to return to the family business. The company's cornerstone event, a Christmas toy giveaway for the less fortunate—devised by her late mother—is under threat. The professional fundraising company handling the event has gone bankrupt, absconding with all the toy donations, a crisis yet to hit the media. While her family advocates for postponing the event to regroup and strategize damage control, Holly is resolute about upholding her mother's legacy. She plans to rope in a high-profile individual to spearhead a fresh fundraising campaign and attract new donors. Her choice is Jack Kane, a former major league pitcher she had a somewhat clumsy encounter with at Arthur Publishing. Jack, whose charity was also victim to the bankrupt company, can empathize with Holly's situation. However, he's reluctant to become the face of a Christmas campaign due to his personal aversion to the holiday. Holly manages to persuade him to at least ponder over the idea while she assumes the role of Santa's elf, hoping to rekindle his Christmas spirit. As they spend more time together in the run-up to Holly's planned fundraiser featuring Jack, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. Through Holly's eyes, Jack begins to see the magic of Christmas. The future of their budding romance, however, hinges on the success of the fundraiser and the survival of the toy giveaway tradition in these trying times.
