Incubus (1982)

Beneath the tranquil veneer of the small New England town of Galen, a sinister darkness begins to unfurl. Roy Seeley and his girlfriend Mandy Pullman, enjoying a serene camping trip by the lake, suddenly become the victims of an unprovoked and violent attack. The aftermath leaves Roy dead and Mandy brutally violated, her uterus ruptured in an act of savagery that leaves seasoned Dr. Sam Cordell startled. Soon, the tranquility of Galen is further shattered when the town's librarian, Carolyn Davies, falls prey to a similarly gruesome fate. While Lieutenant Drivas suspects the hand of a ruthless gang, Dr. Cordell and Sheriff Hank Walden are convinced that this string of brutalities is the work of a lone, monstrous entity. As the investigation unfolds, the town's secrets begin to seep out like a dark undercurrent. His grandmother, Agatha Galen, attempts to suppress his fears, but Jenny, learning of his disturbing dreams, draws her father and Laura into the vortex of their family’s enigmatic history. Together, they unravel a terrifying supernatural secret, where dreams bleed into reality and an occult force lurks in the shadows. The peaceful town of Galen becomes a chilling battleground, where the fight against an ancient evil might be the only way to stop the cycle of brutal murders. With each revelation, the line between nightmare and reality blurs, pulling them deeper into a horror they never could have imagined.
