Precious (2009)

Claireece Jones is primarily known as Precious, and she has a lot more she's struggling with than the average American teenager in 1987. As an overweight black teen in Harlem, the opportunities available to her aren't great. But lack of opportunities and frequent bullying are further compounded by the fact that Precious is already pregnant with her second child. Precious' mother is both physically and verbally abusive, and her father are the result of being raped by her father. Could the rare chance to attend an alternative school help Precious find a path forward that doesn't feel entirely hopeless?
