In the bustling heart of Mumbai, young Karan grapples with the loss of his parents, finding solace in the warm embrace of his Chacha's middle-class home. As an aspiring engineer, he enrolls at Satara's Jaigarh University, stepping into the tumultuous world of a student hostel. But his arrival is marred by a harrowing welcome from Akshay and a horde of senior-year males, their bullying an insidious ritual known as 'ragging'. Karan quickly becomes ensnared in a cycle of relentless extortion, public humiliation, and brutal beatings, orchestrated by the hostel's ring-leader, Feroz. Feroz, a politically connected aspiring politician, willingly fails his exams to maintain his privileged lifestyle and reign of terror in the hostel, even under the indifferent gaze of the hostel Warden, Sharad Saxena. As Karan's studies suffer under this oppressive shadow, he finds a flicker of hope in the compassionate Payal and the supportive camaraderie of fellow victims Vishnu Pandey, Bobby, and Nilesh. When impoverished newcomer Pawan Mehta falls prey to Feroz's torment, Karan's courage sparks into a flame of resistance. However, his intervention not only ignites the wrath of Feroz but also alienates his friends, who now equate 'ragging' with a warped rite of passage to 'manhood'.
