In the heart of India, we find our near-sighted, perpetually financially-stricken landlord, Baburao, who's found himself caught in the turbulent current of life's challenges. His tenants consist of Raja, an irresponsible individual always behind on rent, and Shyam, a hopeful jobseeker trying to fill his late father's shoes, yet remaining perpetually unemployed. Their lives are a chaotic symphony of squabbles, dreams, and desperation. Meanwhile, in the backdrop of the city's hustle and bustle, we have Shyam, played by the charismatic Sunil Shetty, and Raju, portrayed by the dynamic Akshay Kumar. Both are boarders in Baburao's humble abode, each daydreaming of a more prosperous life. Their paths intertwine in the most unexpected way when a phone cross-connection leads them into the dark world of a kidnapping scheme. The trio stumbles upon an opportunity when a call from a notorious kidnapper, Kabira, lands on their line. They hatch a daring plan to pose as the real kidnappers, inflate the ransom, and siphon off the excess for themselves, intending to hand over the original ransom to the actual kidnapper. One such instance is when the bank manager, Asrani, attempts to set up Shyam with the lovely Anuradha, leading to a comic misunderstanding with a bystander who mistakes Asrani for a pimp.
