In the heart of Victorian London, the cobbled streets whisper with intrigue as the long-abandoned 12 Pimlico Square finally welcomes new occupants. Newlyweds Paul and Bella Mallen, unsuspecting of the house's past, settle within its shadowy confines — a place where the echoes of a brutal murder linger. The previous owner, Alice Barlow, was ruthlessly killed for her priceless rubies, a mystery that remains unsolved as the rubies were never found. The house, a silent witness to the past, seems to toy with Bella's sanity. Her once delicate constitution spirals downwards, tangled in a web of forgetfulness, delusions, and unexplained phenomena. The gaslights flicker mysteriously and disembodied noises emanate from the locked upper floors. Her husband Paul's affection for her teeters precariously, morphing into frustration and isolation as he grapples with her worsening mental health. Meanwhile, B.G. Rough, a grizzled horse wrangler with a past as a police constable, harbors an obsessive interest in the unsolved Barlow case. His keen eye finds an uncanny resemblance between Paul Mallen and Louis Bauer, the slain woman's nephew. As Paul's odd behavior escalates, disappearing into the neighboring house night after night, Rough's suspicion grows. Alongside Bella's cousin, Vincent Ullswater, who harbors his own animosity towards Paul, Rough is determined to unravel the secrets hidden within the eerie walls of 12 Pimlico Square. As they tread a path fraught with danger and deceit, Bella's sanity hangs by a thread, threatening to shatter completely. As the gaslights of Pimlico Square flicker ominously, will the truth be illuminated before it's too late for Bella's sanity - and her life?
