Flatliners (1990)

A group of medical students is fascinated with life after death, so they set out on a dangerous set of experiences to see what's out there. As a shared ritual, all five of them let themselves medically die momentarily before being shocked back to life. But in the days that follow they each find themselves having horrible and active hallucinations of the sins they've committed and the trauma they've endured. As the visions become both physically real and increasingly more unhinged, they're forced into a race against time to find a way to stop their own final reckonings.
