Firestorm (2013)

An ominous tempest is on the horizon, destined to unleash devastation upon the city, its wrath threatening to annihilate everything in its path. Amidst this impending chaos, a band of hardened criminals, headed by the infamous Nam (Hu Jun), armed to the teeth with high-caliber artillery, execute another audacious, violent armored car heist in the full glare of the day, indifferent to the bustling city life around them. Any who dare obstruct their path are met with ruthless brutality, leaving the city's law enforcement in a state of disgrace and humiliation. Veteran police inspector Lui (Andy Lau), doggedly trailing Nam and his ruthless gang, is resolute to put a halt to this reign of terror that jeopardizes the lives of innocent bystanders. But he is quickly confronted with the bleak truth that conventional police methods are woefully inadequate to cage these relentless predators. Addressing such extraordinary crime calls for extraordinary measures, even if it means straying from his ethical compass. An ex-convict, Tou (Lam Ka Tung), yearning to sever his ties with his criminal history, steps forward to be Lui's informant, in a bid for a clean slate and a chance at a new life with his beloved Bing (Yao Chen). Little does he suspect the infernal circumstances he's about to walk into, in this high-stakes game of cat and mouse.
