Fifty Pills (2006)

In the throbbing heart of New York City, Darren Giles finds himself on the precipice of losing everything he's worked for. His college scholarship has evaporated, the object of his deepest affections remains elusive, and the specter of financial insecurity threatens to cut his academic journey short. Tossed into a whirlwind of chaos and danger, Darren must navigate a labyrinth of challenges that include surviving the city's most formidable drug tycoon and the whims of a teenage dominatrix. In an ironic twist of fate, he's also pursued relentlessly by a trio of thugs who've mistaken him for someone else. Amidst this pandemonium, he must find the time and mental strength to pen an insightful paper on Dante's "Inferno." To further complicate the already intricate puzzle that's become his life, Darren must convince his parents of his heterosexuality, a task likened to threading a needle in a windstorm. The climax of his trials lies in selling fifty pills of ecstasy, an illicit endeavor that could either make or break his future. If he succeeds, he'll have enough cash to fund another semester of college, and perhaps even muster the courage to ask out the girl of his dreams. Darren's journey is a dizzying race against time, a game of survival where the stakes are as high as they've ever been.
