Plot

In the shadowy depths of the art world, where fame is elusive but talent is abundant, resides Daniel Jakor. A gifted artist, yet unnoticed by the world, he labors to sell his own creations. However, his true artistic prowess lies not in birthing original pieces, but in the seamless replication of the grand masterpieces of artistic legends like Picasso, Monet, Degas, and Renoir. Guided by Tay Murphy, a morally compromised gallery owner in Boston, Daniel delves deeper into the labyrinthine art world, refining his craft until he himself becomes a master forger. However, Tay's life is on a downward spiral, his personal demons clinging to his coattails, pushing him to the precipice of disaster. Caught in a tangled web of debt to the mob, Tay ensnares Daniel in the clutches of Seamus White, the formidable head of the New England Irish mob and a fervent art aficionado. As Seamus's machinations grow increasingly audacious, stretching both Daniel's talents and the very parameters of forgery itself, the only person who can unravel his intricate web of deceit is his former fiancée. Now an authenticator for the renowned auction house, Sotheby's, she stumbles upon Daniel's forgeries and the dangerous quicksand he's sinking into. The question remains, can she reach him before the FBI's net closes in? Or will Daniel's treachery against the mob shatter his world into a million pieces? And what really defines authenticity? If no one ever discovers the truth, if the world remains blissfully unaware, can one honestly label Daniel's masterpieces as merely Fake?
