Gravity (2013)

Dr. Ryan Stone is the main character of this terrifying drama set in outer space. Sandra Bullock takes the title role as an engineer on her very first mission. What appears to be a routine mission is suddenly a major disaster strikes. She's left to cope with the aftermath as she loses touch with mission control and must learn to fend for herself in space. This movie rightfully earned a great many kudos along with numerous Oscar nominations for direction and acting. This is just not a movie. It's a vision of the perils and joys of being in space.
