Plot

In the heart of Madrid's burgeoning punk scene, high-society Sara finds herself in the grungy embrace of "El Calentito," a pulsating pub where she sought to shed her innocence in a rendezvous with Toni. When she finds him entangled with another woman, she drowns her disappointment in liquor, only to awaken in the unkempt nest of Leo and Carmen, two vibrant low-class women seeking a new vocalist for their band, Las Sioux. With a crucial meeting with Ernesto, a music producer, looming, Leo and Carmen persuade Sara to accompany them, sparking an unexpected flame in Sara's heart for Ernesto. Amidst the whirlwind, Sara discovers her own voice, a siren call that convinces her to step into the punk spotlight as the newest member of Las Sioux, a secret she carefully guards from her overbearing mother, Ana, with the help of her best friend, Marta. However, the delicate web of lies unravels during a raucous party where passions flare, secrets emerge, and Ana uncovers Sara's double life, provoking a dramatic escape to the sanctuary of El Calentito. There, under the wing of Antonia, the pub's transsexual owner, Sara is coaxed back onto the stage for an electrifying performance scheduled for a significant date, February 23, 1981. As Sara prepares to confront her mother's disapproval and take the stage alongside Leo and Carmen, the city is thrust into chaos by a military coup. Amidst the turmoil, Sara uncovers Ernesto's deceptive nature, a neighborhood rebellion, and finds unexpected comfort in Jorge, Antonia's son, who becomes her first lover. In the face of adversity, Sara returns to the stage, her heart beating in rhythm with the pulse of the city, ready to sing a stirring anthem of life and liberty, embodying the spirit of El Calentito.
