In the heart of Chad, 2006, the echoes of a forty-year civil war are silenced by a governmental amnesty for the war criminals. This announcement stirs a furious vengeance in Gumar Abatcha, who directs his grandson Atim, a sixteen-year-old boy, to find and kill the man who snuffed out his father's life. Armed with his father's weapon and a burning desire for justice, Atim embarks on a journey to track down the culprit, Nassara. Nassara, the man responsible for his fatherless existence, has seemingly transformed, leading an honest life with a wife, regular visits to the mosque, and a humble bakery. After a period of deliberation, Atim infiltrates Nassara's life, offering himself as an apprentice in the bakery. He is accepted, providing him with a golden opportunity to exact his revenge. Yet, as Atim delves deeper into Nassara's world, the lines between justice and murder begin to blur. What seemed like a simple task of retribution becomes a complex web of emotions and revelations. The plot of Dry Season (2006) unfolds as the young protagonist grapples with his mission, challenging the viewer to question the true nature of revenge and forgiveness.
