Plot

Haunted by the tragic loss of their young daughter and burdened with an undercurrent of unspoken guilt, John and Laura Baxter seek solace within the chilly embrace of Venice, Italy. In this labyrinth of canals that whispers tales of shocking murders, they attempt to navigate their grief. John immerses himself in the restoration of an ancient chapel, using the intricate work as a conduit for his suppressed sorrow. Laura, on the other hand, finds solace in the numbing embrace of medication. Their new life takes an unsettling turn when they cross paths with Heather and Wendy, a pair of enigmatic elderly sisters. Heather, blind yet claiming to possess psychic abilities, brings forth unsettling visions of their dearly departed child. At the same time, John experiences his own cryptic flashes - glimpses of his daughter in her signature red cloak wandering the labyrinthine streets of Venice, and disturbing visions of Laura and the sisters on a funeral gondola. A sinister figure, cloaked in a glossy red anorak starts to lurk within the shadowy back alleys of the off-season town, adding to their growing unease. As the line between reality and illusion blurs, the question begins to loom - are the sisters' revelations genuine? Does John's skepticism mask a potential danger? In the heart of Venice, where sorrow flows like its meandering canals, the Baxters find themselves entangled in a web of mystery, psychic phenomena, and a haunting sense of dread.
