Edward Wilson is a success professionally and a failure personally. He has risen through the ranks of the Office of Strategic Services, which would later become the CIA. However, at home his marriage is strained at best, and his relationship with his son is virtually nonexistent. These private tensions only exacerbate Wilson's growing difficulties at work as the Cold War begins.
