Plot

In the shadowed alleyways of New York, a terrifying entity christened as "The Moon Killer" emerges under the glow of the full moon, leaving a chilling trail of victims strangled, cannibalized, and meticulously inscribed with surgical precision. Amid the city's panic, an audacious newspaperman, Lee Taylor, embarks on a perilous investigation into the gruesome murders. The clues present a cryptic path that leads Taylor to the ominous cliffside mansion of the enigmatic Dr. Xavier, fondly known as Dr. X, who oversees the clandestine Academy of Surgical Research. Within its hallowed halls, a motley crew of scientists emerges as potential suspects. There's Dr. Wells, the amputee who has an academic interest in African cannibals, Dr. Haines, who harbors macabre tastes and a dubious past at sea, and Dr. Rowitz, the eccentric poet with an unusual affinity for moon rays. Not to forget Dr. Duke, the belligerent paralytic, and Dr. X himself, the enigmatic head of the academy. As Taylor delves deeper into the mystery, he finds unexpected allies in Dr. X's beautiful and sharp-witted daughter, a hysterical maid, and a suspiciously sinister butler. Together, they navigate through the grim tale, facing perilous encounters and unsettling revelations. Taylor, despite the physical and psychological turmoil, remains steadfast, inching closer to unveiling the true identity of the Moon Killer. The plot weaves a mesmerizing tapestry of suspense, horror, and intrigue, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats as the terrifying truth gradually unfolds.
